Bring out your Dead : An Exploration of Aged and Resurrected Wines

Every year, during early December, we hold our “Bring out your Dead” event.  Don’t take the theme too literally.  This event provides you with an opportunity to share an aged wine from your under the bed store (or cellar) with other members of the group.  Last year we were presented with wines over 50 years old and they were real treat.  The wine you choose to bring doesn’t have to be expensive but should be something that kindles a fond memory, likely from when they were in their heyday.  We will ask you why you chose it.  The wine can be red or white but should be something you believe is still sound.

As we can only ”squeeze” twenty serves from bottle, we need to limit attendees to 20.  If you contribute a wine there won’t be a charge for the night other than your bottle of lovingly curated wine.

For those of you who just don’t own older wines, you can still come along but the cost will be $20/head, collected on the night.

If you are contributing a wine, to help with the organisation of the evening, please email me at (slkeenihan@gmail.com) with a description of your wine and put “Bring out your Dead” in the subject line.

There will be nibbles provided though a little more than than usual.

Everyone needs to buy a ticket in any case, first in first served so don’t delay.  This is a very popular event.

If you miss out on a ticket please tell me as we will collate a waiting list (if someone drops out) or if there is a strong response with donated wines we may expand numbers (remembering that then attendees may not be able to taste all the wines)
