The Showgrounds Community Men’s Shed has a large, fully equipped kitchen which is operated by a very active group of members that support a whole range of shed events & activities throughout the year.

 

The “Kitchen Team” comprises of over 30 Shedders who meet regularly to plan and deliver tasty food and drinks at events for both shedders and members of cooperative community organisations. In addition to frequent, topical Masterclasses, the team also delivers customised cooking classes for shed members to encourage the development of cooking skills and improve the understanding of healthy food choices.

We run regular monthly members luncheons and sundowners as well as the super-popular Thursday morning tea sessions which feature the tastiest scones in all of Australia’s Men’s Sheds – as confirmed by our record attendances!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Kitchen Team also operates a kitchen garden which produces a large range of vegetables and herbs that are readily used in all of our culinary creations.

A recent addition to the team’s operations is a group that is dedicated to bake wholesome, artisan sourdough breads which will be further enhanced when our new wood-fired oven starts his life in the shed garden in early 2022.
