Wine Group meeting - Tuesday 4th Nov

Yes, it’s the same day as the Melbourne Cup, but unfortunately I don’t think the race organisers will be willing to move the event to avoid the class.  So both events will proceed as planned.

The theme for the November Wine Appreciation event is “Exotic Wines” and will be jointly presented by Alex Nutter and Richard Werren. Alex and Richard have reviewed the wines we have tasted over the past few years and with the assistance of their good friend Andrew Edwards have selected 2 white and 5 red wines made from grape varieties not previously tasted by the Wine Appreciation Group. Wines to be tasted include wines from Italy, Crete, Sicily, Portugal and Croatia. In addition, there will be 2 Saperavis to taste and compare – one from Georgia (the home of the Saperavi grape) and made using the traditional Georgian method of fermenting the grapes in quevri and one from McLaren Vale using modern techniques.
