Your Shed has recently procured a wonderful collection of books featuring the aboriginal art in the Kimberleys and Pilbara by acclaimed author and photographer Mike Donaldson.

Mike Donaldson is a geologist and bushwalker who has been documenting rock art sites across Australia for more than 30 years, particularly in Western Australia’s Burrup and Kimberley regions.

The Kimberley set originally comprised 3 volumes but Volume 2 is no longer in print. Nonetheless the remaining 2 volumes hold an exhilarating set of photographs from sites which can’t be visited today without undergoing onerous permitting requirements. The volumes are unique and today could not be compiled again.

Together the hard cover (coffee table size) books comprise over 1000 pages of photographs and explanatory text – a true treasure trove of exquisitely photographed rock art.
