Special Monthly Event - A Visit to a CRAFT BREWERY
5 Action Rd
04:00 PM – 06:00 PM
For April, our Monthly Meeting will be more about your Wellbeing than your Health. So Join us for a Tour and Tastings at Limestone Coast Brewing (LCB) in Malaga at 4pm. We will meet with the founder of LCB, Geoff Munday, for a tour of the Operations that have been designed and built by Geoff and his team. Limestone Coast Brewing LCB set out in 2017 to establish itself as an “In Venue Craft Beer Ghost Brewer”, a concept that was innovative and first to market with this approach. The business concept and technology was developed to offer a microbrewery experience to a much wider range of venues such as hotels, potential brew pubs, restaurants, cafes, sporting clubs, etc. LCB's world-leading technology and trade secrets are patent pending in 47 countries and are continually improving with their strong R&D culture. Where LCB is unique, is that they have cracked the code on maximising profits by splitting the brewing process, creating multiple cellar doors where they are actively brewing on each site, all based around a central plant. They call this a HUB and SPOKE model which is now fully operational in Perth at a range of Venues. The LCB brewers work with businesses to design a range of beverages tailored to their customer's preferences and exclusively formulated to their establishment. LCB designs, acquires, installs and operates the required infrastructure, taking up just a small fraction of the space that would be normally required with a traditional brewing operation. Their patent-pending world-leading technology allows Businesses to create their own unique beers, ciders and seltzers on site, and re-create any previous brews with 100% accuracy.  LCB won the 2020 WA Small Business of the Year and then in 2021 won the RISE Business News Small Business of the Year. Geoff is happy to accommodate 30 persons so you will need to get in quick.  Best in.... Best Dressed.  This Tour would normally cost $25 per head, but the cost to us will be $12.50 per head, a 50% discount.  This includes the very informative Tour and all Tastings. We also would suggest car pooling as its around a 30 minute drive from the Shed. Regards Michael Hart & Steve Gerreyn

Photography Group: One Day Workshop, Lightroom #1
09:00 AM – 05:00 PM
Workshop Due to popular demand we will run the first one day workshop using the Lightroom Classic software conducted by Peter Buck and Les Gunn.    Processing is an important part of photography, producing final images that better reflect what we saw and felt at the time of capture. The Lightroom workshop will demonstrate the power (and ease with practise) of the software for managing photos and their database as well as the power of editing to high standards. In addition, Lightroom can share images and produce books and slideshows.   Whether you are a beginner or pro or somewhere in between, Peter and Les will provide a good overview of the Lightroom Classic Package.  There will be some theory given at the commencement of the workshop, however the bulk of the time will be hands-on with the participants using/sharing laptops and the group’s desktops.    The purpose of this workshop is to focus on the key modules “Library” and “Develop”. The “Develop” module involves the processing of photos and will occupy most of the workshop time. This part of the workshop will not be exhaustive in terms of covering everything possible. Instead, it will focus on the key processing elements so that participants become better acquainted with the practical power of Lightroom and more comfortable with using the software. A more comprehensive understanding of the software only comes with use over time. To some extent the participants will determine the pace and direction of the workshop and lessons learnt.   A collection of photos has been compiled, to be given to each workshop participant on the day. The collection will comprise unprocessed Raw photos, so that the impact of processing will be clearer. The collection has a variety of in-camera results, to demonstrate the application of specific processing tools.    In addition, it is suggested that participants bring up to six images for additional work that they would like to do, time allowing.   Attendees to bring: Max of 6 photos on a USB drive they would like to edit during the hands on sessions in the Workshop. If possible, a laptop computer with Lightroom software (If Yes please select the relevant "ticket" below). Catering Lunch will be provided by the Shed Kitchen Group and will consist of a mix of meat and salad rolls and a fruit platter.  At morning and afternoon breaks we will have access to coffee/tea and some special biscuits.    Cost is $12 payable by credit card.  Due to the Easter break and for planning and catering purposes we request that you please make your payment by 5pm Thursday 14 April 2022.   Sundowner This workshop will conclude with our usual Sundowner for attendees, with a chance to talk informally with our presenters Peter and Les with some wine and nibbles at a cost of $10 per person. Please make your payment by 5pm Thursday 14 April 2022.   I hope you can join us for this very interesting Workshop.   Mike Somerville-Brown

SCMS April Sundowner: The Whole Hog on a Spit
Showgrounds Community Men's Shed
06:00 PM – 08:30 PM
Due to popular demand, we are changing the "Whole Hog on a Spit" event from a luncheon to a sundowner. This is also in response to the fact that the regular end-of-month sundowner has been cancelled for the second month running due to speaker limitations. We hope that for those sheddies who have already purchased their tickets (they are selling fast!), this change does not pose a problem.  If you cannot make it, let us know and we will give you a credit for the next event. Nevetheless, I am confident that your Kitchen Team will put on an extra special meal under the "Western Stars". Werner Ribul will 'conduct' the Kitchen Team to deliver a sumptous Roast Pork with crackling meal which will include roast potatoes and a healthy green leaf salad with a hearty vinaigrette. For those who are still hungry, the meal will be rounded off with a surprise dessert. Cost for food will be $15 with beer, wine and soft drinks at standard prices.  As usual, we require pre-payment with your registration.  You will be able to get a credit towards a future event if you cancel at least 1 day before this luncheon. No-shows on the day will forfeit their ticket fee. Members who intend to use a credit carried over from a previous event, please reply to this email and we will book you in.  Make sure you register early to avoid the disappointment of missing this special occasion as the lunch room capacity is strictly limited.  Rest assured, this event will be over-subscribed!
