What you need to know about SCAMS
Showgrounds Community Men's Shed
04:00 PM – 05:00 PM
Please come along for our Monthly Meeting where Merinda Willis from WA SamNet will tell us about SCAMS and provide us with some tips on how to protect ourselves, our friends and family. As we all know, ripoffs and frauds are becoming more and more commonplace and sophisticated so we all need to be more vigilant. The WA Government has developed ScamNet as one method of combatting this ever increasing problem. With many types of Scams in the Community, it can be very hard to identify what is legitimate and what is Scam. Spotting scams and learning how to protect yourself, will help you avoid losing vital personal information and money.  WAScamnet has also provided us with the latest information about the recent Optus data breach.  You can check this out by clicking HERE. Partners are welcome to attend his Important Presentation, but get in quick as we have a maximum of 50 attendees. The Presentation will be followed by our Sundowner, with some some tasty morsels from our kitchen and an assortment of drinks for sale as normal. Please note that this Presentation will commence at 4pm.

You literally are what you eat! Don’t turn into a lettuce…   Many of the chronic diseases we’re all trying to avoid, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers are influenced by what we eat. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the theme for this year’s Veteran’s Health Week is ‘Eating well’.   To commemorate this year’s Veterans Health Week, and to support the health and wellbeing of veterans, Showgrounds Community Men’s Shed have invited Nick Nation, Accredited Practicing Dietitian to share his no-nonsense food and cooking approach for men.   Come along, get your hands dirty, hang out with other guys and enjoy a free lunch that you will help prepare yourself!
