To maintain your Blue Dot Woodworking Accreditation you will need to, you will need to undertake a Verification of Competency (VOC) Assessment as follows. Woodworking members aged under 75 years will be assessed every 24 months Woodworking members aged 75 to 84 years will be assessed every 18 months Woodworking members older than 85 years  will be assessed every 12 months You will be assigned a simple task which shouldn’t take more than about 30 minutes. This is not a test of your craftsmanship; it is simply a demonstration that you can competently use the machinery unsupervised without endangering yourself or others.  You can book your VOC Assessment by clicking on your preferred VOC Assessment date below. The Rostered Supervisor for the day will oversee your assessment and he will either deem you "competent" or refer you to a Trainer for further assessment or training. Hi Guys The Photography Group is running an intensive two day course for up to 8 photography members to learn how to safely fly a drone for taking photos and or videos.  Members who successfully complete the course and pass a flying test will be awarded a drone sticker.  These members will be able to use our drone for photography during future field trips proposed for 2024. The course will be run with two sessions on both the 9th and 10th January 2024.  John Bolto will lead the sessions with assistance from our experienced drone pilots to help you understand the CASA rules for drones; drone controls and flying manoeuvres necessary for taking photos and videos. During the training sessions we plan to use our Shed drone, as well as John's and another member's personal drones.  Sessions each day will commence at 8:30am sharp so please arrive at UWA Sports Park, McGillvray Rd, off Brockway Rd Mt Claremont by 8:15am. The second session will commence after a short break for morning tea about 10am.  All trainees to attend both days.   Please note that if the winds are too strong to safely fly a drone the course will need to be rescheduled accordingly. Please register by 5pm Thursday 4th Jan 2024 for planning purposes and allocation into training groups.   Mike Somerville-Brown Leader Photography Group
