Laser Cutter Training - February 2026
Laser Cutter - Showgrounds Community Men's Shed
09:00 AM – 10:30 AM
COURSE IS FULL The next Training Course for the Laser Cutter is coming up. The first training session will be held on Wednesday 4th February 2026 at 9am. The training will continue each week on Wedensday mornings, until all attendees are proficient enough in using the laser cutter safely and can produce some simple projects in Lightburn. In the past, members required 5-6 sessions, but it really depends on your computer literacy and willingness to learn.  I would like to keep the sessions fairly fluid, where we work together on a few simple projects. Obviously I will explain the general setup of the Laser Cutter, including the all important safety procedures. We also will go through all necessary steps to run Lightburn, the software the shed uses for the laser. Once the training course is booked, I will send out some information to all attending members, including access to a members version of Lightburn (reduced cost). This is a free training course but it is a ticketed event. 3 members are already pre-registered (only 3 spots available), so get your ticket now. Cheers Otti

We have had a late cancellation for tomorrow's event so if you missed out and still wish to attend be quick and purchase the last ticket    Stephen Our first event of 2026 is certainly going to be one to remember.  Our resident Superman (well he had Xray eyes), has gathered a wonderful range of matured Cabernet Sauvignon for us to taste.  Mark Khangure has gathered from his own cellar an excellent selection of wines which could be considered a South Australia versus Western Australia great wine "taste-off".  SA is represented by wines from Mclaren Vale, Coonawarra and the Barossa while WA has entrants from the Great Southern and Margaret River regions.   The wines are all over 20 years old ranging from 1998 to 2005 so it will also be a great test of the longevity.  All have been tasted recently by "experts" and considered within their respective drinking windows. This will be a very special night so be quick if you wish to abtain a ticket.  If you miss out, please email me (slkeenihan@gmail.com) in case we get any late cancellations. We will also be showing our agenda for 2026 - volunteers to host event are always welcome.
