Start 2025 by joining everyone in our summer garden for fresh baked scones, jam and cream with friendly companionship. All existing members as well as any prospective members are welcome.  If it isn't raining at the SCG then we'll have the cricket on in the conference room.

Following our very successful Christmas function in 2022 and 2023, it will be on again in 2024. The Annual Christmas Function will be held at the Showgrounds Mens Shed. On the assumption that we will have nice weather in mid December we will be seated in our outside al fresco garden area. Should we have inclement weather we will relocate to the Conference Room. Nibbles, Satays (chicken & beef), Salad, Dessert, Wine, Beer and soft drinks will be provided.  The cost will be $20/person. Active photography members and their Partners are most welcome to attend. It would be greatly appreciated if you could please purchase your ticket(s) by 5pm Friday 13 Dec for shopping and catering purposes. Assistance Required on the day 4:00pm setup the garden area with tables and chairs 4:45pm Run the Barbecue 6:30pm Tidyup after the event and run the dishwasher, etc. We look forward to seeing you all there. RASWA has the 'Snack NYE' music festival on Tuesday 31st December, which is a closed ground event, meaning there will be no access on that date. Site rules will take effect from Monday 16th December, 2024, through to Friday 10th January 2025. This includes the requirement to wear high-vis vests and enclosed shoes, and to be mindful of increased traffic and heavy machinery across the site. 

All Members who intend to be part of the Woodworking Group will need to complete this Power Tools Induction Training. There is a once off Cost of $10 for this Training Course, which can be paid when you purchase a ticket. Note: Members are required to complete the 'Yellow Dot' Shed Introduction session before taking part in a Red Dot training session. There will be a maximum of 3 persons for each Training Session.  If after booking, for some reason you cannot attend the training, please advise the Red Dot coordinator, Jeremy Wallace, on 0406927650 (SMS please), or email (jeremywallace5@outlook.com) as soon as possible, so we can arrange another session for you.  The successful completion of the Red Dot Training is a pre-requisite to booking the Blue Dot Woodwork Machinery Course. Once you have completed this Training, your Membership Badge will updated to show a Red Dot and enable you to undertake any projects in the Main Workshop that utilise only Power Tools.

This is your last opportunity for 2024 to join with the Wellness Group at our final presentation for this year. So come along and enjoy listeniong to a great speaker and sharing in some Shed fellowship this week. Due to popular demand, Richard is returning to our Shed for another presentation entitled "Heroes, Villans and Vagabonds". Perth’s history is littered with wonderful characters that shaped the city in a multitude of ways. In this talk, Richard Offen will take you on a fascinating journey through the history of Perth, highlighting some of the people who, in their own way, for good or bad, and even sometimes a bit of both, contributed to the way Perth is today. Ladies such as Eliza Shaw, who through her diaries and writings reveals the joys, sorrows and extreme hardships of early life in the Swan River Colony. Then there is Moondyne Joe, the infamous 19th century Houdini, who managed to escape from many of WA's jails. Were they mad, bad or totally eccentric? Come along and judge for yourself!
