A Half day workshop on the Lightroom Classic software package will be conducted by Peter Buck and Les Gunn. Whether you are a beginner or pro or somewhere in between,  Lightroom Classic includes all the essential tools for creating amazing photos on your computer.  We will outline the key features with demonstrations and exercises on: Managing and importing photos Editing photos Publishing photos This Workshop is the first of a series of workshops to assist members to learn how to use Lightroom to better organize, store, edit and share your photos. The Workshop is free for "Photography Computer Members for 2021"; otherwise the costs is $10 for Shed members. The Workshop will be followed by a Sundowner with wine and nibbles at a cost of $10 per person. The Workshop is limited to 30 persons. Hello Shedders As advertised in an earlier notice, the February health presentation will be followed by the monthly Sundowner in the SCMS garden. Our kitchen team will prepare a delicious offering, starring Greek Lamb Skewers and Sticky Chicken Wings accompanied by Falafel and salad.  PLUS, there will be something sweet to finish your repast.  Cost for food will be $12.  Drinks will be available for purchase - beer, wine and soft drink at standard prices. You are welcome to purchase an additional ticket for your partner to this Sundowner.  The bar will be open from 4:30 in the garden to sell drinks to partners while members are at the presntation inside. We require pre-payment with your registration. You will be able to get a refund if you cancel at least one day before the event. No-shows on the day will forfeit their ticket fee. A Reminder about tomorrows member meeting. Please register if you havent already thanks.   The Health topic for this months meeting is "Inadequate Sleep – A Common and Troubling Problem”.  The talk will be about causes, consequences and ways in which sleep issues can be addressed.   Our speaker will be Professor David Hillman.   The meeting will also include a brief Shed Update followed with an informal BBQ.

Our aim is to have fun, and improve our knowledge and skills in photography. The Executive Team have approved the purchase of computers, related equipment and software for the delivery of the Photography Group's 2021 program of activities on the condition that all costs are recovered over an 18 month period.    Therefore I seek your commitment to continue to be an active member of the Photography Group by purchasing this $50 "Event Ticket” for 2021 which will give your access to all our new computing equipment. This new equipment and software is essential for the delivery of workshops on Lightroom, creating slideshows and videos and will assist in the delivery of all our sessions in 2021. The first session of the Photography Group for 2021 is being held at 2pm on 11 Feb 2021 in the Conference Room.. We will present a draft program for 2021 which includes more field trips, workshops and presentations to build your knowledge and skills. As requested by members we also plan to deliver a series of workshops on using Lightroom for editing your photos and iMovie & Premiere Elements for your videos.  We also propose some photography projects to have some fun but challenge your knowledge and skills in Photography. Les will deliver a demonstration on scanning photos and slides (This will be useful knowledge for the first project). The session will conclude with our usual Sundowner Workshop cost is $15 including wine & nibbles. Due to COVID restrictions we need to limit attendees to 30 persons; and please bring your mask. Hello Shedders This will be the first of our monthly sundowner gatherings for 2021 and will be a celebration of Australia Day. Our kitchen team will prepare a delicious BBQ offering including the Aussie classics of prawns and rissoles.  To keep it healthy these classics will be accompanied with healthy salads.   Cost for food will be $10.  Drinks will be available for purchase - beer, wine and soft drink at standard prices. We welcome everyone to come along to our 3 DAY PLANT SALE on December 21st, 22nd and 23rd between 9.30am and 12.30pm.  The majority of our 800 pots will be $5 and $3. We also have some larger pots that are invidually priced along with Succulent pots ready to go, for Xmas presents, between $10 and $15.  You can also bring your own pots along, buy some plants and we'll pot them for you at no extra cost. We are located just behind Gate 10 at the Claremont Showgounds or drive in through Gate 8 and follow the signs to the Mens Shed. If its not too busy we can also give you a quick tour of the Shed and talk about all the programs we offer for guys such as: Woodworking, Gardening, Bee Keeping, Bicyles, Cooking, Photography, Computers, Electronics and Wine Appreciation. Shedders, Please note that due to Bruce Mazzuchelli's funeral now set for Wednesday 16th December at 10:30am, we are forced to re-schedule this event to Thursday, 17th December, 12:30pm. We hope that this does not cause a problem for too many people who have already purchased a ticket for this event.  If you have purchased your ticket already and cannot attend on Thursday, 17th December, the shed will re-imburse you for the ticket price. Our Christmas Lunch menu will include perennial favorites such as cooked Prawns, glazed Hams and Christmas pies and cakes. The cost will be $10 per head for food and drinks can be purchased at the normal Shed prices. Please get in early and purchase your ticket by credit card.
