To maintain your Blue Dot Woodworking Accreditation you will need to, you will need to undertake a Verification of Competency (VOC) Assessment as follows. Woodworking members aged under 75 years will be assessed every 24 months Woodworking members aged 75 to 84 years will be assessed every 18 months Woodworking members older than 85 years  will be assessed every 12 months You will be assigned a simple task which shouldn’t take more than about 30 minutes. This is not a test of your craftsmanship; it is simply a demonstration that you can competently use the machinery unsupervised without endangering yourself or others.  You can book your VOC Assessment by clicking on your preferred VOC Assessment date below. The Rostered Supervisor for the day will oversee your assessment and he will either deem you "competent" or refer you to a Trainer for further assessment or training. If you choose not to do the VOC Assessment,  you will no longer be able to use the Machine Room equipment unsupervised.

Hi Guys The Photography Group is running an intensive two day course for up to 8 photography members to learn how to safely fly a drone for taking photos and or videos.  Members who successfully complete the course and pass a flying test will be awarded a drone sticker.  These members will be able to use our drone for photography during future field trips proposed for 2024. The course will be run with two sessions on both the 9th and 10th January 2024.  John Bolto will lead the sessions with assistance from our experienced drone pilots to help you understand the CASA rules for drones; drone controls and flying manoeuvres necessary for taking photos and videos. During the training sessions we plan to use our Shed drone, as well as John's and another member's personal drones.  Sessions each day will commence at 8:30am sharp so please arrive at UWA Sports Park, McGillvray Rd, off Brockway Rd Mt Claremont by 8:15am. Beer n Bullshit Sundowner - Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy explained
Showgrounds Community Men's Shed
04:00 PM – 06:00 PM
Hi Sheddies, Due to the Shed Closure previously announced and now the new requirement for an extended period where attendance at the site can only be achieved once you have done an online induction, we have decided to pospone the B&B meeting by 1 week. So the meeting will take place on Thursday 14th December. As a welcome back to the Shed following our forced closure we have a special treat for you to enjoy. Our very own, active Shedd member, Calvin Munro will be giving a special presentationas detailed following.  "Calvin Munro is presenting a talk on the topic of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. As a clinical Hypnotherapist he practised at his clinic in West Leederville for 6 years. He trained with Rick Collingwood at the Australian Academy of Hypnosis. The talk will introduce you to • The concept of hypnosis • Understand what is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy. • How it can be of benefit.   As an aside, unlike stage hypnosis, there will be no "ballet demonstrations" or "operatic renditions!" You're asked to bring an open mind (no pun intended) and enjoy the evening." As per usual, folowing the talk, there will be loads of time for questions, fellowship and the opportunity to socialise with your fellow Sheddies. So come along, be educated, inquisitive, engaged and be social by enjoying the company of your fellow Sheddies at this Sundowner. Looking forward to catching up with all of my beer and Bullshit mates. Best regards Peter Panek
